Insurances - SAVE MONEY with the right coverage!

Protect your home and financial well-being with the right insurance policy. We can arrange several types of insurance policies for you at attractive monthly premiums. In the Netherlands, the most common types of insurance that are usually taken out with a mortgage are available in combination packages at attractive prices from various insurance companies.

Our basic fee for mortgage consultancy includes arranging the below insurances (except for life insurance).

Don't miss out on the chance to save money and secure your financial future today!

Life Insurance (levensverzekering)

In almost every mortgage construction, a life insurance is advised to relieve the burden on your survivors and the risk for the bank. This ensures that your family members can continue to live in your home, and the bank is assured of continued payment.

Home insurance or homeowner's insurance (woonhuisverzekering or opstalverzekering)

This standard insurance policy covers damages to your home due to fire, storm, burglary, leakage, and other events, and pays for repairs or rebuilding.

Contents insurance (inboedelverzekering)

This insurance covers your home contents and belongings against loss, damage, or theft, including furniture, equipment, electrical items, and jewelry.

Liability insurance (aansprakelijkheid)

In the Netherlands, you are legally responsible for damages caused unintentionally to another person or their belongings. Even if the damage was not intentional, you must compensate the other party, and the costs can be high, especially in the case of personal injury. Protect yourself from these financial implications with a liability insurance, which covers not only damages caused by you but also by your family and pets. For a low monthly premium of just €3-5, you can have peace of mind knowing that you're covered. For example, if your children accidentally damage someone's car while cycling, this insurance will come in handy.

Income Guarantee (inkomensgarantie) – Disability Insurance

Protect your income with occupational disability insurance! In the event that you are unable to work and earn money due to a disability, this insurance provides a guaranteed income to help you maintain financial stability.

The Income Guarantee insurance helps prevent a sudden drop in your income if you become unable to work due to an illness or accident. Simply specify the income you want to receive when taking out the insurance, and you can rest easy knowing you'll have a safety net in place.

Mortgage Protection Insurance/Housing Costs Insurance (woonlastenverzekering) – Disability and Unemployment

Secure your monthly mortgage payments in case of occupational disability or unemployment with Mortgage Protection Insurance. This type of insurance provides coverage for your monthly mortgage payments if you experience occupational disability or unemployment. With a Mortgage Protection Insurance, you can have peace of mind knowing that your mortgage payments can be partially or fully paid even if you are unable to work.

Please note that the unemployment cover can only be taken out in combination with the disability cover.

Post-purchase services

At Mortgage Masters, we don't stop after arranging your mortgage. We also provide after-care services.

Our commitment to you doesn't end with the purchase of your home. After your mortgage is registered, we'll keep you up to date via email to ensure that you stay informed of any relevant changes that may affect your financial products. This includes changes to legislation, product conditions and terms, and your personal circumstances. We are here to help you make any necessary adjustments to your financial products, if possible and if necessary.

If you need to make any changes to your mortgage construction, such as renovations or changes in your personal situation, please let us know. Please note that additional costs may apply for our services in such cases.

Provisional (or preliminary) refund

If you're paying your mortgage interest monthly, Mortgage Masters can arrange for you to receive your tax benefit monthly as well, through collaboration with professional tax advisors.

This can be done by filing a tax form for a provisional refund for mortgage relief with the Dutch tax authority. The balance between your monthly mortgage expenses and the tax refund will become your net monthly payment.

You have the option to apply for either the total tax benefit in monthly installments or a partial refund, depending on your preference. For instance, if your total monthly tax refund is €200 and you apply for only €100 refund, your net monthly payment will decrease by €100. You'll have to pay the monthly gross amount to the money supplier and you'll receive the partial refund from the tax authority each month. When you do your annual tax return, you'll receive the difference in one amount.

Insurance claim

If you have taken out any of the insurance policies through Mortgage Masters, and have experienced a loss that is covered by your policy, simply contact us and we will do the formal request for compensation on your behalf at the insurance company. Don't hesitate to reach out to us for any questions or assistance with your insurance claim!

Annual tax return

In the Netherlands, tax returns have to be submitted before the 1st of May, but submitting it before the 1st of April will result in assessment by the tax authorities before the 1st of July. Mortgage Masters can help you with your annual tax return, which can be complex and challenging when you have a mortgage. As an employee, most of your tax return will already be prefilled by the authorities, but there are still deductible costs you may be unaware of.

Through collaboration with experienced tax advisors, Mortgage Masters can ensure that your tax return is flawless and all your deductible costs are correctly included. We'll make sure your tax return is submitted before the deadline (1st of May) for proper assessment.
